Hotels in Pamukkale

To best enjoy the sights of Pamukkale, including the Travertine Terraces and the City of Hierapolis as well as the health giving delights of Cleopatra's Antique Pool Spa it is best to stay one or more nights in the small town of Pamukkale at the foot of the terraces.

There are now several excellent choices within the town, here are some of those that you may choose from:

Located outside the town is Richmond Pamukkale Thermal Hotel which caters to larger tour groups and so has large facilities. Dinner and breakfast are all served buffet style and guests may choose to use the large rectangular swimming pool topped by a heated pool which is decorated with reminders of the nearby travertine terraces. Rooms are decorated in modern international hotel style and feature twin or double beds, bathrooms with bathtub or shower stall and central air-conditioning. And indoor spa pool is also available. Views from the gardens over the surrounding hills are very relaxing. In house entertainment including traditional Turkish Belly dance during the evenings.

Polat Thermal Hotel is situated 20 minutes from Pamukkale and has its own heated spa pools

Hotel Goreme - Located outside the main village this family run budget hotel is well run, clean and has a pool and free wifi. The owners will prepare breakfast beside the pool and help you with transport. A minibus can collect you from the bus stop if arranged in advance.

Aspawa Pension - This small family run hotel is situated between the bus station and the path to the Travertine Terraces and so an excellent convenient location. With both breakfast and dinner available within the hotel it can provide all your needs for a stay here.

If not staying in Pamukkale then it is also possible to stay in Denizli where there are a larger range of hotels.

Antique Pool

Situated above the Pamukkale white travertine pools is one particularly spectacular location fed by the same hot springs. Here you can bath in the same waters in which Cleopatra once swam! A professionally run modern spa facility allows you to enjoy these historical healing waters.

Unlike the white water of the lower pools the Antique Pool favored by Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt, is pure clear warm water. Once it was surmounted by a Roman Temple to Apollo with ornate roof held up with Doric columns. Imagine how Cleopatra must have experienced this when you imagine it in it's glory day.
